WHY CORRECTIVE EXERCISE?
Movement is means of how we are able to perform all of our activities, necessary for work and survival. Proper muscle balance is essential for proper joint movement and proper neuromuscular control. If muscles are overactive on one side of the body, this will often cause muscles on the other side of the body to be under active.... or weak, possibly leading to injuries.
This cycle, over a period of time could continue to perpetuate into other muscles being over and under active. Remember, the body is inner connected. What's going on in the ankle, could in time ultimately affect what is going on through the spine and up in the shoulders and neck.
People often don’t recognize the fact that they may have these muscle imbalances until they are at the physical therapists or chiropractor office and in pain.
Potential injuries can often be avoided with a proper evaluation and the correct exercises.
DOES EVERYONE NEED CORRECTIVE EXERCISE?
NO, NOT EVERYONE NEEDS CORRECTIVE EXERCISE......
However, if it is necessary, during the workout session the exercises are modified so that the client starts to incorporate the proper muscles to help pull things back into proper balance.
